The freeware Avidemux is a video editing program with which you can edit video files of different formats.
With Avidemux 2.7.8 you can import and edit movies from a digital camera as well as already existing video files on the computer.
The free tool Avidemux supports all common file formats and the program also reads movies from a digital camera. Among other things, the program processes the container formats AVI, MPEG (PS and TS), MP4, OGM, FLV, MKV, as video formats MPEG-1/2, MPEG-4 ASP, M-JPEG, H.263 and reading WMV. Xvid and Libavcodec are used for encoding. Editing and cutting films is easily possible. Avidemux can be automated with scripts, so you can easily start recurring tasks.

In the middle there is a preview of the currently loaded video file, so you can always see what changes you make and how the video file is saved afterwards.
If you do not want to manually edit and convert videos with Avidemux, you can also use ready-made output profiles, which can be found under the menu item “Auto”.
